ultimateimp – Consumer Model Expected to Bring Better Battery Life and New Color Options. Microsoft is reportedly preparing to unveil the consumer version of the Surface Pro 12 later this month, with leaked information pointing to a global launch on 16 June 2026.
According to reports from well-known leaker Roland Quandt and German publication WinFuture, the upcoming device will introduce several refinements over the existing Surface Pro 11 while adopting Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon X2 platform.
The news arrives shortly after Microsoft announced two new Surface devices powered by Nvidia’s RTX Spark architecture: the Surface Laptop Ultra and Surface RTX Spark Dev Box.
However, those products are not expected to ship until later in 2026. Making the Surface Pro 12 the company’s next major hardware release.
The leaked information suggests the Surface Pro 12 will become one of the first consumer products to showcase the new ARM-based chips.
While Microsoft already offers business-oriented Surface Pro 12 models powered by Intel Panther Lake processors. The consumer lineup is expected to focus primarily on Qualcomm hardware.
Promotional materials reportedly reference a 12-core Snapdragon X2 Elite processor. The exact model remains unclear, though possible candidates include the X2E-78-100, X2E-80-100 and X2E-84-100.

OLED Display Returns With Longer Battery Life
Microsoft reportedly claims that the new model can achieve up to 15.5 hours of battery life in official testing. Representing around a 10 percent improvement over the previous generation.
For comparison, the OLED Surface Pro 11 delivered more than 11 hours in Wi-Fi browsing tests and nearly 16 hours during video playback.
If Microsoft’s figures prove accurate, the Surface Pro 12 could become one of the longest-lasting premium Windows tablets available.
