ultimateimp – Vivo has officially launched the X500 Pro series in China, introducing two new flagship smartphones with MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 9600 Pro chipset.
The lineup consists of the Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max. Both models share much of their hardware, although the Pro Max offers several upgrades.
The larger model features an 8,000mAh battery and a 200MP telephoto camera. Meanwhile, the standard X500 Pro uses a more compact design and a 64MP telephoto camera.

Both smartphones also introduce a new 50MP primary camera developed with Zeiss and support several advanced imaging features.
Vivo has focused on improving the camera experience while also delivering high-refresh-rate displays, fast charging and large battery capacities.
Vivo X500 Pro Uses a Compact 6.36-inch Display
The Vivo X500 Pro is the smaller smartphone in the new series. It features a 6.36-inch BOE Q11 display with a resolution of 2,660 x 1,216 pixels.
The panel supports a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and can reach a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits.
The smaller display represents a notable change compared with the previous X300 Pro, which featured a much larger 6.78-inch screen.
Vivo has also equipped both new models with HDR10 Plus and Dolby Vision support. The company says the displays can reach hardware-level brightness as low as one nit.
This low-brightness capability should help make the screens more comfortable when used in dark environments.
The Vivo X500 Pro Max takes a different approach with its larger 6.85-inch display. It offers a significantly higher resolution of 3,168 x 1,440 pixels.
Both models are powered by the Dimensity 9600 Pro, making the X500 Pro series the first smartphone lineup to use MediaTek’s new flagship chipset.
Pro Max Gets an 8,000mAh Battery
The larger size of the X500 Pro Max allows Vivo to install a significantly larger battery.
The Pro Max comes with an 8,000mAh battery, while the standard X500 Pro has a 6,510mAh rated capacity.
The latter matches the battery capacity found in the previous X300 Pro, although Vivo has made several other hardware changes with the new generation.
Both smartphones support 90W wired fast charging. They also support 40W wireless charging for users who prefer a cable-free charging setup.
The combination of large batteries and fast charging gives the two phones substantial power capacity while maintaining relatively short charging times.
The Pro Max’s larger battery is particularly notable because it gives the device considerably more capacity than the standard model.
Despite the differences in size and battery capacity, the two phones retain many of the same flagship features.
New Zeiss Camera System Adds 200MP Telephoto
The camera system is one of the most significant changes introduced with the Vivo X500 Pro series.
Both models feature a new 50MP primary camera with a 24mm-equivalent focal length and a claimed dynamic range of 17EV.
Vivo showcased camera samples during the launch event, highlighting detailed images with accurate colors and balanced exposure between subjects and backgrounds.
The two models differ in their telephoto hardware. The standard X500 Pro features a 64MP telephoto camera with an 85mm-equivalent focal length.
The X500 Pro Max upgrades to a 200MP telephoto sensor, giving the larger model a higher-resolution option for zoom photography.
Both smartphones also include a 50MP ultrawide camera. For selfies and video calls, they use a 50MP Samsung JN1 front-facing sensor.
Vivo has also highlighted 4K slow-motion recording at up to 240 frames per second.
The phones support Vivo’s new LOG video format and feature CIPA 7.0 stabilization, adding further capabilities for users interested in mobile photography and video recording.

Pricing and Availability
The Vivo X500 Pro starts at CNY 6,499, equivalent to approximately $970.
It is available with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, giving buyers a high-capacity configuration for demanding applications and media.
The Vivo X500 Pro Max starts at CNY 6,999, or approximately $1,045.
The larger model is available with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Both smartphones are offered in four different color options.
Vivo has initially launched the X500 Pro series in China, while international availability is expected to follow.
With the Dimensity 9600 Pro, new Zeiss-backed camera hardware, high-refresh-rate displays and large batteries, the X500 Pro series represents Vivo’s latest flagship smartphone generation.
The Pro Max further separates itself from the standard model with its 8,000mAh battery, larger display and 200MP telephoto camera.
