ultimateimp – Xiaomi has teased its upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro series ahead of its official launch, providing an early look at the rear design of the new flagship smartphones.
The Xiaomi 18 series is expected to compete with other upcoming flagship smartphones, including the OnePlus 16.
Ahead of a formal announcement, Xiaomi released a teaser video showing the rear section of the Xiaomi 18 Pro models. The video confirms that the upcoming smartphones will retain the secondary display on the back, a feature previously introduced with the Xiaomi 17 Pro series.
The rear display itself appears to have received a small design change. Its bezels look slightly narrower than those found on the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max, although the overall concept remains largely unchanged.
Another noticeable change is the positioning of the Leica branding. On the upcoming model, the branding appears to have moved toward the right side of the rear panel. There also appears to be an additional physical button on the side of the phone.
Xiaomi has not yet explained what the new button does. However, recent reports have suggested that it could be an AI-focused button designed to provide quick access to artificial intelligence features. Its functionality could potentially resemble the Essential Key found on recent Nothing smartphones, although this remains unconfirmed.
Xiaomi 18 Pro Could Feature an 8,000mAh Battery
While Xiaomi has not revealed the complete specifications. Previous reports have pointed to several hardware upgrades for the Xiaomi 18 Pro series. One of the most notable changes could be a larger battery with a capacity of up to 8,000mAh.
That would represent a significant increase over the 7,500mAh battery used by the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. The larger battery could provide additional endurance for users. Particularly when using the phone’s secondary rear display and other demanding features.
