ultimateimp – Xiaomi has introduced a new education-focused version of its tablet in China called the Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition. Designed for students, the new model builds on the standard Redmi Pad 2 Pro by adding study tools, bundled accessories, and software features powered by artificial intelligence.
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro originally launched in September 2025 with several upgrades over its predecessor. In January 2026, Xiaomi followed that release with a Harry Potter Edition limited to China. Now the company has expanded the lineup again with a student-oriented variant that also remains exclusive to the Chinese market for now.
From a hardware perspective, the Learning Edition shares the same core specifications as the regular Redmi Pad 2 Pro. It comes with a 12.1-inch display featuring 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
That change may be particularly useful for students who spend hours reviewing documents, attending online classes, or completing assignments. Anti-glare displays are becoming more desirable in devices aimed at education and productivity.
Powering the tablet is the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. Xiaomi sells the device in a single configuration with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This setup should be sufficient for multitasking between note-taking apps, video classes, digital textbooks, and browser-based learning tools.
Battery capacity reaches 12,000mAh, which is substantial for a tablet in this category. The device supports 33W wired fast charging and also includes 27W reverse wired charging, allowing it to power other compatible devices when needed.
AI Homework Grading and Three-Year Education Subscription Included
The biggest difference between the Learning Edition and the regular model is the included accessory bundle and software package. Xiaomi includes a colorful rugged case and a smart stylus in the box.
The protective case features a latch, a dedicated stylus slot, and a foldable cover that doubles as a kickstand. These additions make the device easier to use on desks, in classrooms, or while traveling.
The stylus should also improve note-taking, handwriting practice, diagram drawing, and navigation through educational apps. Bundling it directly with the tablet adds value for students who would otherwise need to buy accessories separately.
On the software side, Xiaomi says the tablet includes an AI teacher system. This feature uses a one-on-one teaching style similar to a classroom tutor, with real-time question-and-answer sessions during lessons.
Another major tool is AI-powered homework grading. According to Xiaomi, assignments can be checked instantly with one click. The system can provide feedback, identify weak subject areas, and help students address knowledge gaps more efficiently.
Xiaomi also includes a three-year subscription to its Xiaomi Education Center. This service reportedly gives access to teaching materials, most textbooks, more than 150,000 lessons, and structured study plans.
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro Learning Edition is priced at CNY 2,699, which converts to roughly $396 or €337 depending on exchange rates. That is notably higher than the CNY 1,799 price of the regular Redmi Pad 2 Pro with the same 8GB RAM and 128GB storage setup.
Xiaomi has not confirmed any international launch plans yet. However, since previous Redmi tablets have received kid-focused versions in Europe, a broader release remains possible.
With anti-glare hardware, bundled accessories, and AI-powered study tools, Xiaomi is clearly targeting families and students seeking a dedicated digital learning device.
