ultimateimp – Retroid has announced the Pocket Duo Lite Plus as the third model in its Pocket Duo dual-screen handheld lineup. The new device combines the design of the Pocket Duo Lite with the processor found in the more powerful Pocket Duo.
The announcement comes less than two weeks after Retroid launched the Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite. The new Pocket Duo Lite Plus now occupies a position between the two existing models.
Retroid says the new handheld was created in response to feedback from customers following the Pocket Duo Lite’s launch. The company has kept the Lite model’s exterior while making several important hardware changes.
The Pocket Duo Lite Plus retains almost the same specifications as the Lite model in other areas. However, its processor, memory configuration, charging capabilities and connectivity have all received notable upgrades.
The new handheld is already available for pre-order in several colours. Retroid has also introduced a temporary discount that makes the device more affordable during its initial sales period.
Snapdragon 7 Gen 4-Based Processor Leads the Upgrade
The most significant change comes from the processor. The Pocket Duo Lite uses Qualcomm’s Dragonwing QCS6125, which is an IoT version of the Snapdragon 665.
Retroid replaces that chip with the Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-7790 in the Lite Plus. This processor is the IoT version of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 used inside the original Pocket Duo.
The performance upgrade is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Pocket Duo Lite is available with either 4GB of RAM and 64GB storage or 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
The Lite Plus therefore offers a more capable memory configuration alongside its upgraded processor. This combination should provide more headroom for applications and games supported by the handheld.
Retroid has also added several connectivity improvements. The new model supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4, while DisplayPort support enables external displays at up to 4K resolution and 60Hz.
Dual Displays and Android 16 Included
Despite the hardware upgrades, the Pocket Duo Lite Plus retains the same overall design as the Pocket Duo Lite. Its dual-screen configuration remains one of the main features separating it from conventional handheld gaming devices.
The new model also supports 27W fast charging. This represents another improvement over the Pocket Duo Lite and should reduce the time needed to recharge the device.
DisplayPort connectivity provides additional flexibility for users who want to connect the handheld to a larger monitor or television. The output supports resolutions up to 4K at 60Hz.
Retroid also ships the Pocket Duo Lite Plus with Android 16. The newer operating system gives the device a more recent software foundation compared with older Retroid handhelds.
Together, the upgraded processor, faster charging, newer wireless standards and Android 16 make the Lite Plus substantially different from the standard Lite model despite their shared design.
Price, Colours and Pre-Order Details
The Pocket Duo Lite Plus is available in five colour options. Buyers can choose from 16 Bit, Black, Clear Purple, GC and Ice Blue finishes.
Retroid has set the regular price at $219. However, customers can receive a temporary discount by entering the code “LITEPLUS” during checkout.
The promotional code reduces the price to $199. Retroid says the discount will remain available until October 31, 2026.
Pre-orders are already open, while shipments are scheduled to begin in mid-November. Buyers therefore have several weeks between placing an order and the expected shipping period.
At the discounted price, the Pocket Duo Lite Plus costs only $10 more than the 12GB RAM version of Retroid’s Pocket Flip 2. The latter recently received a permanent price reduction to $189.

Pocket Duo Lite Plus Sits Between Two Models
The Pocket Flip 2 offers more RAM and an AMOLED display, but the Pocket Duo Lite Plus focuses on its dual-screen design. The newer model also features a more powerful and efficient processor.
Retroid’s latest handheld additionally offers a larger battery capacity and a newer version of Android. These characteristics give it a different hardware profile despite the similar pricing.
The Pocket Duo Lite Plus effectively fills the gap between the existing Pocket Duo and Pocket Duo Lite. It combines the Lite model’s exterior with the original Pocket Duo’s processor and several additional upgrades.
For buyers interested in dual-screen handheld gaming, the new model provides another option within Retroid’s growing lineup. Its $199 promotional price also places it close to the company’s recently discounted clamshell handheld.
Retroid has not indicated whether additional Pocket Duo models are planned. For now, the Pocket Duo Lite Plus represents the latest addition to the company’s dual-screen handheld family.
