ultimateimp – Colorful has launched the Meow X16 Pro gaming laptop in China under its cat-themed Colorfire Meow brand.
The new model combines an AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX processor with a 115W Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. The processor uses AMD’s Zen 4 architecture, while the RTX 5060 handles graphics duties.
Together, the processor and graphics card can reportedly consume up to 170W of power. Colorful uses a cooling system with two fans and four heat pipes to manage the resulting heat.

The laptop can also switch between discrete-GPU and hybrid graphics modes. Hybrid graphics can help reduce power consumption during workloads that do not require dedicated GPU performance.
The Meow X16 Pro ships with 16GB of dual-channel DDR5-5200 memory. Storage comes from a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD.
An additional M.2 slot reportedly supports PCIe 5.0 drives, giving users room for future storage upgrades. The laptop features a 16-inch IPS display with a 2,560 x 1,600-pixel resolution.
The panel supports a 180Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 500 nits of brightness. It also covers 100% of the sRGB color space for a broad range of colors. An 80Wh battery provides power for mobile use.
Colorful also supports 100W USB-C Power Delivery charging for the laptop. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E and a 2.5Gb Ethernet connection.
The laptop additionally provides three USB-A ports and two USB-C ports. While the hardware offers solid gaming capabilities, the Meow X16 Pro’s design is its biggest distinguishing feature.
Colorful gives the machine an “Orange Shadow White” finish inspired heavily by feline aesthetics. A subtle 3D cat pattern appears across the display lid.
Orange accents cover parts of the keyboard deck, while the touchpad features a paw-print pattern. The keyboard area also receives a pearl-effect coating that complements the overall design. The display hinge can open through 180 degrees.
Meow X16 Pro Adds Cat-Themed Software Features
Colorful has extended the Meow X16 Pro’s unusual design philosophy into its software features. The laptop supports the company’s Smart Control ecosystem, which allows it to communicate with a smartphone.
A connected phone can function as a presentation remote or as a game controller. This feature provides additional control options beyond the laptop’s built-in keyboard and touchpad.
Colorful has also included a dedicated low-power AI voice chip. An offline wake engine enables voice-controlled power-on and automatic unlocking.
These functions can operate without requiring an internet connection. The combination of feline styling and unusual software features gives the Meow X16 Pro a distinctive identity.
Its underlying hardware, however, remains focused on established components rather than the newest available platforms. The Ryzen 7 8745HX and RTX 5060 Laptop GPU still provide a capable combination for modern gaming.
The 180Hz display also complements the dedicated graphics hardware for high-refresh-rate gameplay. The additional M.2 slot offers further flexibility for users who eventually need more storage.
For now, Colorful appears to be keeping the Meow X16 Pro exclusive to the Chinese market. The company has not announced plans for an international release.

The laptop went on sale in China on September 1. Colorful has set the launch price at CNY 10,499, equivalent to approximately $1,565. That price places the Meow X16 Pro within the premium gaming laptop segment.
Its combination of a 16-inch 2.5K display, RTX 5060 graphics, and 80Wh battery gives it a strong specification set. However, the cat-themed styling remains the laptop’s most distinctive characteristic.
The orange-and-white chassis, 3D lid pattern, and paw-print touchpad create an appearance unlike most gaming notebooks. Its smartphone integration and offline voice features further separate it from conventional gaming laptops.
International buyers will have to wait for Colorful to provide further information about global availability. For now, the Meow X16 Pro remains a China-exclusive gaming laptop with a particularly distinctive personality.
