ultimateimp – GMKtec has confirmed the global launch date for its upcoming high-end mini-PC, the EVO-X5 Pro. The compact system will officially launch on September 28 at 07:00 UTC.
The company previously showcased the EVO-X5 Pro at IFA 2026 in Berlin. However, GMKtec did not reveal its availability timeline during the event. The latest announcement now confirms that the mini-PC will arrive before the end of September.
It remains unclear whether September 28 will mark the beginning of sales or simply GMKtec’s pricing announcement. The company has yet to clarify when customers will be able to purchase the system.
The EVO-X5 Pro is based on AMD’s Gorgon Halo architecture and uses the Ryzen AI Max+ Pro 495 APU. Its integrated Radeon 8065S graphics targets demanding workloads, including local artificial intelligence applications.
Several mini-PC manufacturers have recently adopted AMD’s Gorgon Halo platform. Minisforum has announced the MS-S1 Max P495, while Chuwi has introduced the UniBox AI495 Pro.
GMKtec’s new model is positioned as a significant upgrade over the company’s EVO-X3 and EVO-X2 mini-PCs. The EVO-X5 Pro combines high memory capacity, extensive storage, and high-speed connectivity in a compact system.
GMKtec will offer configurations with up to 24TB of storage. The capacity comes from three M.2 2280 SSDs, with all three drives using the PCIe Gen 4 interface.
EVO-X5 Pro Offers 192GB RAM and 160GB VRAM Allocation
The EVO-X5 Pro can also be configured with up to 192GB of LPDDR5X-8533 memory. GMKtec says users can allocate up to 160GB of that system memory as VRAM.
That allocation exceeds the 96GB limit found on systems based on AMD’s Strix Halo platform. The large memory pool could make the EVO-X5 Pro particularly suitable for demanding local AI workloads.
The system also features a built-in 330W power supply. GMKtec has designed the mini-PC to support multiple units operating together in a cluster.
Connectivity is another major focus of the EVO-X5 Pro. The front panel includes a 3.5mm audio jack, a fingerprint reader, and two USB Type-A ports.
Two USB4 ports are also positioned on the front panel. These ports support transfer speeds of up to 40Gbps for compatible external devices and storage.
The rear panel provides two 10GbE Ethernet ports for high-speed wired networking. It also includes a second 3.5mm audio jack, a DC input, and an HDMI output.
Users will find two additional USB Type-A ports on the rear. GMKtec also equips the system with two USB4 V2 ports supporting speeds of up to 80Gbps.

This combination of high-speed networking and USB connectivity should provide considerable flexibility for demanding desktop configurations. The clustering capability also gives users another way to expand the system’s computing resources.
GMKtec has not yet revealed the EVO-X5 Pro’s pricing. The company also has not confirmed whether September 28 will be the sales start date.
More details should emerge as GMKtec approaches the September 28 global launch. Until then, its combination of 192GB RAM, 160GB VRAM allocation, and 24TB storage makes the EVO-X5 Pro a notably powerful mini-PC.
