ultimateimp – Lenovo has officially released the Legion C700, a new handheld designed primarily for cloud gaming. The device combines a large 120 Hz display with gaming-focused controls and an 8,000 mAh battery.
The Legion C700 arrives in China after Lenovo spent more than a month teasing the device. For now, the company has not confirmed plans to release the handheld internationally.
That makes the Legion C700 different from Lenovo’s Legion Go 2 and Legion Go S. Those two models remain the company’s latest gaming handhelds available in global markets.
The new device is positioned closer to the Logitech G Cloud than Lenovo’s Legion Go products. Its hardware and software focus on streaming games rather than running demanding PC titles locally.
The Legion C700 uses Tencent Start for cloud gaming. The service sits alongside Lenovo’s Legion Stream launcher and the handheld’s Android 16 operating system.
The company reportedly claims the device can stream triple-A games at 60 frames per second. Black Myth: Wukong is among the titles reportedly used to demonstrate its capabilities.
Lenovo also claims the handheld can achieve latency as low as 10 milliseconds during cloud gaming. However, independent testing has not yet verified these performance claims.
The Legion C700 features a 7.82-inch IPS display with relatively slim bezels. The panel has a resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels and uses a 16:9 aspect ratio.
The display supports a 120 Hz refresh rate for smoother motion. It also reaches a peak brightness of 500 nits, providing a specification suited to indoor gaming.
Powering the handheld is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 chipset. The octa-core processor uses a 4nm manufacturing process and provides the hardware foundation for Android 16.
Lenovo has equipped the device with active cooling. A small fan and heatsink help manage temperatures generated by the processor during operation.
Legion C700 Starts at CNY 1,499 With 8GB RAM and 256GB Storage
Lenovo has fitted the Legion C700 with an 8,000 mAh battery. The large capacity complements the handheld’s focus on extended gaming and cloud streaming sessions.
The device runs Android 16 despite its cloud-first positioning. This allows users to access Android applications in addition to dedicated gaming services.
The software approach also distinguishes the C700 from Lenovo’s Windows and SteamOS-based gaming handhelds. It functions more like a specialized Android gaming device with a strong cloud gaming focus.
Lenovo is launching the Legion C700 with an attractive introductory price in China. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration starts at CNY 1,499.
That price represents a significant discount from the listed CNY 2,199 MSRP. The discounted launch price works out to approximately $225 based on the provided conversion.
Pre-orders in China will begin on September 8. Lenovo has not yet announced whether the C700 will eventually reach markets outside China.
The company has also not confirmed when the lower-end configuration will become available. That version is expected to feature 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The different configurations give Lenovo room to target users with varying storage and memory requirements. However, the higher-spec model is currently the only configuration with confirmed pricing.
The Legion C700’s cloud-focused design makes it notably different from traditional PC gaming handhelds. Instead of prioritizing local game performance, Lenovo has designed the device around game streaming.
The large 7.82-inch display provides more viewing area than many conventional handheld gaming devices. Its 120 Hz refresh rate also complements fast-paced games and streamed content.
The TMR joysticks and Hall effect triggers further emphasize the device’s gaming purpose. Macro buttons provide additional control options for supported games.
The Dimensity 7400 provides enough processing capability for the Android platform and related applications. Its 4nm manufacturing process also allows Lenovo to combine performance with active cooling in a portable design.

The 8,000 mAh battery is another major component of the C700’s hardware package. Its capacity should be particularly useful for users who intend to use the handheld away from a power source.
