ultimateimp – Asus has upgraded two gaming mice under its Republic of Gamers brand with new sensors and expanded customization options. The ROG Gladius IV Ace and ROG Spatha X 65K succeed earlier models in the company’s gaming peripheral lineup.
The ROG Gladius IV Ace replaces the previous ROG Gladius III Wireless. Meanwhile, the ROG Spatha X 65K serves as the successor to the existing ROG Spatha X.
Both models receive hardware improvements while retaining their respective ergonomic designs. Asus has also introduced changes intended to give gamers greater control over performance and physical configuration.
The ROG Gladius IV Ace receives the most significant weight reduction. Its weight has fallen from 89 grams to 56 grams without the stackable weights.

Asus has also upgraded the mouse’s sensor. The previous 19,000 DPI sensor has been replaced by the AimPoint Pro 65K sensor.
The new sensor supports sensitivity of up to 65,000 DPI. This represents a substantial increase over the previous generation’s maximum sensitivity.
The polling rate has also received a major upgrade. The Gladius IV Ace now supports up to 8,000 Hz compared with 1,000 Hz previously.
Asus enables the higher polling rate through its ROG SpeedNova Gen II technology. A higher polling rate allows the mouse to send position updates to a computer more frequently.
The Gladius IV Ace uses 100% PTFE feet for smoother movement. It also features optical micro switches designed for its primary click inputs.
ROG Spatha X 65K Adds Modular Switches and Adjustable Weight
The ROG Spatha X 65K also receives the AimPoint Pro 65K sensor. Asus has therefore brought its 65,000 DPI sensor technology to both new gaming mice.
The Spatha X 65K focuses more heavily on customization than the lightweight Gladius model. It includes adjustable weights that allow users to personalize its balance and feel.
The mouse also receives an upgraded switch socket system. Asus uses its ROG Push-Fit Switch Socket III technology for the new model.
The modular socket allows users to replace compatible switches more easily. It also supports third-party switches, giving users additional options for customizing click characteristics.
The Spatha X 65K comes with ROG Micro Switch II switches. Users can therefore use the supplied switches or explore compatible alternatives through the modular system.
The mouse also supports tri-mode connectivity. This provides multiple connection options for different gaming and computing environments.
Web-based driver support provides access to customization features. Users can configure supported settings without depending entirely on traditional desktop software.
The Spatha X 65K retains its larger design and focuses on flexibility. Its adjustable weights allow users to change the physical balance according to their preferences.
The Gladius IV Ace and Spatha X 65K therefore take different approaches to customization. The Gladius emphasizes low weight, high polling, and fast movement.
The Spatha X 65K emphasizes modular switches, adjustable weight, and flexible connectivity. Both models, however, share the upgraded 65,000 DPI AimPoint Pro sensor.
Asus has not yet announced official pricing for either mouse. The company plans to make both models available starting at the end of September.
The mice will be sold through Asus’ official store and Best Buy. More details about regional availability and pricing should emerge closer to their release.
The upgrades give both mice substantially higher specifications than their predecessors. The jump from 1,000 Hz to 8,000 Hz polling is particularly significant for the Gladius IV Ace.
The reduction from 89 grams to 56 grams also makes the new Gladius considerably lighter. That change could make it more attractive to players who prioritize low-weight gaming mice.
