The latest model builds on the Swift 16 introduced during CES 2026. Acer first announced the laptop in January before officially releasing it in April. Until now, buyers could only choose configurations powered by the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H or the Core Ultra 7 355 processor.
Acer Upgrades Swift 16 With Intel Core Ultra X9 388H Processor
The new Swift 16 configuration introduces Intel’s highest-end Panther Lake processor to Acer’s premium laptop range. The Intel Core Ultra X9 388H is paired with Intel Arc B390 integrated graphics, providing improved performance for productivity, creative workloads, and everyday computing.
Benchmark results indicate the Core Ultra X9 388H delivers a modest performance increase over the Core Ultra X7 358H. Overall processing performance improves by approximately three percent. Some demanding workloads, however, can experience gains approaching 10 percent.
The upgraded processor is not expected to overwhelm the Swift 16’s cooling system. Previous testing of the Core Ultra X7 358H configuration demonstrated low operating temperatures and quiet fan performance during sustained heavy workloads. That suggests the existing thermal solution remains suitable for the faster processor.
Acer has retained the same memory and storage configuration found in the previous premium model. The laptop includes 32GB of RAM and a 1TB solid-state drive. This hardware combination supports multitasking, content creation, and professional applications.
The company also continues to offer more affordable Swift 16 variants. Those models use the Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor while maintaining the same 32GB memory configuration. They remain available for buyers seeking lower pricing without sacrificing memory capacity.
Lightweight Design Retains OLED Display and Premium Features
The processor upgrade leaves the rest of the Swift 16 unchanged. Acer continues to equip the laptop with a 16-inch AMOLED display featuring a 2.8K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel is designed to provide smooth visuals and vibrant colors for work and entertainment.
Display testing measured an average brightness of approximately 400 nits in SDR mode. That brightness level supports comfortable indoor productivity while preserving the visual advantages of OLED technology.
Despite its large display, the Swift 16 remains highly portable. The laptop weighs approximately 1.5 kilograms, making it relatively lightweight within the 16-inch notebook category. Acer also includes a 70Wh battery to support extended daily use.
The keyboard features a built-in numeric keypad, providing additional convenience for spreadsheet work, accounting, and data entry. Combined with the spacious display, the design targets professionals and users seeking productivity-focused hardware.
The Intel Core Ultra X9 388H version is currently available through Best Buy in the United States and Currys in the United Kingdom. Acer has priced the upgraded configuration at $1,899 in the US market.
