MediaTek’s newly launched Dimensity 7500 processor has appeared on Geekbench for the first time, providing an early indication of the chipset’s performance capabilities. Initial benchmark results suggest a notable improvement over its predecessor, the Dimensity 7400.

The Dimensity 7500 was recently introduced as MediaTek’s latest upper mid-range smartphone processor. It succeeds the Dimensity 7400 and brings updated CPU architecture through the adoption of ARM’s new C1 cores.

The benchmark was recorded on Vivo’s newly announced S60 Vitality Edition, the first smartphone confirmed to use the Dimensity 7500. The results offer an early glimpse into what users can expect from devices powered by the new chipset.

According to the Geekbench 6 listing, the Dimensity 7500 achieved a single-core score of 1,243 and a multi-core score of 3,569. These figures place it comfortably ahead of the previous-generation Dimensity 7400.

For comparison, the Dimensity 7400 recorded scores of approximately 1,050 in single-core testing and 2,939 in multi-core performance when tested in the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G.

The difference translates into roughly a 20 percent increase in CPU performance. Such gains represent a meaningful year-over-year improvement for a chipset positioned in the competitive upper mid-range segment.

Generational performance jumps of this scale remain important as smartphone manufacturers continue demanding stronger processing power for multitasking, gaming, photography, and artificial intelligence workloads.

The benchmark results also align closely with MediaTek’s own performance claims made during the chipset’s launch announcement. Early testing therefore suggests the company has largely delivered on its stated expectations.

A key factor behind the improvement is the transition to ARM’s new C1 cores. These replace the Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores found in the Dimensity 7400, bringing a more modern CPU architecture to the platform.

New ARM C1 Cores Could Deliver Major Efficiency Gains

While the benchmark results highlight stronger performance, efficiency may ultimately prove even more important for the Dimensity 7500’s success.

The shift from Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 cores to ARM’s C1 cores represents a substantial leap in CPU technology. Newer architectures typically offer improved performance per watt, allowing devices to deliver better results while consuming less energy.

Battery endurance remains one of the most important factors for smartphone buyers. As a result, chipset efficiency often has a greater impact on the user experience than benchmark scores alone.

The current Geekbench results focus primarily on processing performance and do not reveal how efficiently the chipset operates during prolonged workloads.

Thermal management, gaming performance, and sustained processing behavior will also play a major role in evaluating the chipset. These areas often determine how well a processor performs in real-world situations.

The handset is positioned within the sub-premium smartphone category and starts at CNY 2,899, equivalent to approximately $430. That pricing places it in a segment where performance and efficiency are particularly important purchasing considerations.
