ultimateimp – Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset has made its first appearance on Geekbench. Offering an early look at the performance of the company’s next-generation entry-level mobile processor. The benchmark listing also reveals that the chip is being tested inside an unannounced Oppo A7 Pro Max running Android 16 with 12GB of RAM.

While the initial benchmark scores suggest only modest performance improvements over the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. The chipset could still power feature-rich affordable smartphones with improved efficiency and modern hardware.

Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 Debuts on Geekbench

The new processor appeared on Geekbench under the model number “PYC110,” which is believed to belong to the upcoming Oppo A7 Pro Max.

The listing identifies the motherboard as “SM4850,” Qualcomm’s internal codename for the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5.

According to the benchmark, the chipset features an octa-core CPU with two performance cores clocked at 2.40GHz and six efficiency cores running at 2.02GHz. This configuration uses the familiar Cortex-A78 and Cortex-A55 architecture, reflecting Qualcomm’s approach to the Snapdragon 4 series.

The chipset uses an Adreno 629 GPU for graphics processing. Although Qualcomm has yet to disclose official details about its graphical performance or architectural enhancements.

Geekbench recorded a single-core score of 976 and a multi-core score of 2,250 for the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5.

Compared with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. Which typically scores around 930 in single-core tests and approximately 2,210 in multi-core workloads. The new chip delivers only a modest improvement in CPU performance rather than a major generational leap.

Oppo A7 Pro Max Rumored With Huge Battery and OLED Display

The Geekbench listing also confirms that the tested Oppo A7 Pro Max comes equipped with 12GB of RAM and runs Android 16.

Although Oppo has yet to officially announce the smartphone. Previous leaks suggest the company will equip it with hardware typically found in more expensive devices.

Rumors also suggest that the handset will feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Providing smoother animations and improved visual clarity.

The Oppo A7 Pro Max could stand out with its massive 10,000mAh single-cell battery and 80W wired fast charging. Potentially delivering exceptional battery life while significantly reducing charging times.

For photography, the Oppo A7 Pro Max is expected to feature a dual rear camera system with a 50-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. The device is also expected to include a 50-megapixel front-facing camera for high-resolution selfies and video calls. Neither Qualcomm nor Oppo has officially confirmed the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 or the Oppo A7 Pro Max.
