iPhone Air 2 Leak Points to Bigger Battery

ultimateimp – Apple’s rumored iPhone Air 2 could deliver a larger battery. A more powerful processor, and an upgraded camera system, according to new leaks ahead of its expected launch in early 2027. Separate reports also suggest the ultra-thin smartphone will retain its titanium construction while introducing a new color option and a redesigned Face ID system.

The latest information comes from Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station and YouTuber John Prosser. Although Apple has not confirmed any details, both reports point to several hardware improvements over the current iPhone Air.

iPhone Air 2 Leak Reveals Bigger Battery and 2nm A20 Pro Chip

According to Digital Chat Station, Apple will reportedly equip the iPhone Air 2 with a battery exceeding 3,500mAh. If accurate, the company would increase the battery capacity from the 3,149mAh cell found in the current iPhone Air.

Apple is also rumored to equip the smartphone with a 6.55-inch LTPO OLED display featuring ProMotion support. The adaptive refresh rate technology should provide smoother scrolling while improving power efficiency during everyday use.

Another major upgrade could come from Apple’s next-generation A20 Pro processor. The company is reportedly preparing the chipset using a 2nm manufacturing process to replace the current A19 Pro.

The latest leak also contradicts earlier reports that suggested Apple would use a lower-tier processor to reduce manufacturing costs. Introduce a redesigned CPU scheduler in iOS 27 to reduce processor workload. Apple is also rumored to replace the existing C1X modem with its in-house C2 5G modem to improve signal efficiency while lowering power consumption.

The company is also expected to upgrade the camera system. According to the leak, Apple will replace the current single-camera setup with two 48-megapixel rear cameras. Giving the iPhone Air 2 more advanced photography capabilities than its predecessor.

Titanium Design and Lavender Finish Also Rumored

Separate information shared by YouTuber John Prosser includes unofficial render images and additional hardware details. According to Prosser, the iPhone Air 2 will maintain its titanium alloy chassis despite adding a larger battery and a second rear camera.

The smartphone is also expected to remain just 5.6 millimeters thick. Maintaining the ultra-thin profile while introducing additional hardware would represent one of the device’s key engineering achievements if the reports prove accurate.

Prosser’s renders also support earlier claims that the iPhone Air 2 will adopt a dual-camera layout. The information aligns with previous reporting from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Which also suggested Apple would introduce two rear cameras on the upcoming Air model.

Another reported change involves the front-facing camera system. Prosser claims Apple is developing a smaller Face ID camera, allowing the Dynamic Island cutout to become narrower while freeing additional internal space for upgraded components.

The leak also points to a refreshed color lineup. Apple is reportedly planning to introduce a new Lavender finish, replacing the existing Sky Blue option.

Prosser further suggested Apple could eventually transition its standard iPhone lineup toward thinner Air-branded models, leaving only the Pro series and a foldable iPhone Ultra as alternative flagship options. However, he emphasized that this possibility remains speculative and would not happen before 2028.
