ultimateimp – Asus has launched the ROG Gjallar gaming soundbar in the United States for $600. The product is the first soundbar released under the company’s Republic of Gamers brand.
The ROG Gjallar was initially introduced in early July. Asus designed the soundbar specifically for gaming, with features aimed at immersive audio and multiplayer communication. The soundbar uses a 5.1.2-channel configuration supporting Dolby Atmos.
The audio system includes four 50mm drivers and two 27mm tweeters. It is paired with a 6.5-inch wireless subwoofer rated at 65W.The subwoofer connects to the soundbar through a dedicated 5GHz wireless connection.
The ROG Gjallar also features an integrated audio control hub. The hub contains built-in microphones designed to support headset-free communication during multiplayer games.
Asus says its microphone technology can filter out in-game audio. It can also suppress background noise to help make teammates’ voices clearer during conversations.
The control hub includes an LCD display for managing several functions. Users can adjust volume, control playback, select inputs, and switch between equalizer profiles.
The display gives users direct access to important audio controls. This eliminates the need to rely entirely on connected devices or separate software.
Connectivity includes USB-C, HDMI 2.1 with eARC, optical, and 3.5mm AUX. The soundbar also supports Bluetooth 5.3 for compatible wireless devices.
Two USB Type-A ports provide additional connections for wireless dongles and other accessories. This gives the ROG Gjallar flexibility for different gaming configurations.
