ultimateimp – New Handheld Gaming PC Arrives With Xe3 Graphics and 80Wh Battery. MSI has officially unveiled the Claw 8 AI+ CG3EM, a refreshed version of its handheld gaming device powered by Intel’s latest Arc G3 Extreme platform. The launch comes only months after the company released a Ryzen Z2 Extreme-powered variant, highlighting the rapid pace of development in the handheld gaming market.

The new device is among the first gaming handhelds to adopt Intel’s dedicated Arc G3 architecture. Intel recently introduced the Arc G3 and Arc G3 Extreme processors as direct competitors to AMD’s Ryzen Z series, which has dominated the handheld gaming segment in recent years.

Previous Intel-powered handheld devices often struggled to match AMD’s gaming performance at launch. However, continuous driver improvements helped narrow the gap and significantly improve compatibility and performance across modern games.

The Claw 8 AI+ CG3EM is designed to showcase Intel’s newest handheld-focused hardware. The system is powered by the Arc G3 Extreme processor, which features a 14-core CPU configuration consisting of two performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and four low-power efficiency cores.

This feature uses advanced rendering techniques to generate additional frames and improve perceived gaming performance. Earlier Intel handheld solutions lacked support for this capability, making it one of the most significant upgrades in the new architecture.

Premium Hardware Targets High-End Handheld Gaming Market

Beyond the processor and display, MSI has equipped the Claw 8 AI+ CG3EM with premium specifications aimed at enthusiasts. The device includes 32GB of system memory, providing ample resources for gaming and multitasking workloads.

The company has not yet revealed the default storage capacity. However, the handheld supports a single M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe solid-state drive, allowing users to install high-capacity storage solutions.

Current SSD technology means storage could potentially reach up to 4TB depending on the drive selected. This should provide enough space for large game libraries and media files.

Wireless connectivity is handled by Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0. Ensuring compatibility with the latest networking standards and accessories. These technologies offer faster speeds and lower latency than previous generations.

The Claw 8 AI+ CG3EM also includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports. These ports support charging, high-speed data transfer, external displays, and a variety of peripheral devices through a single connection standard.

Additional connectivity features include a microSD card slot for expandable storage and a 3.5mm audio jack for wired headphones and gaming headsets.

Despite its powerful hardware and large battery, the handheld weighs approximately 785 grams. While heavier than some competitors, the weight remains reasonable considering the specifications packed into the device.

MSI has not officially announced pricing for the new model. However, earlier industry estimates suggested a launch price around $1,500.
