The AMD Ryzen 7 255H APU belongs to the Hawk Point lineup and is currently exclusive to China. It offers eight Zen 4 cores and a peak performance of up to 70 watts. With the integrated Radeon 780M GPU, the mini PC can handle modern AAA games at low to medium settings, making it a practical entry-level gaming solution.
GMKtec emphasizes expandability by including USB4 and OCuLink ports. These interfaces support external GPU (eGPU) setups, significantly boosting gaming performance. The GMKtec AD-GP1, for example, is an eGPU currently listed at $469.98 and pairs well with this device.
Beyond graphics, the GMK K12 features HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 2.1, and dual 2.5G Ethernet ports for high-speed connectivity and multiple display outputs. It also supports WiFi 6E and offers four-screen output, making it suitable for both productivity and entertainment setups.
High-End Expandability and Intelligent Cooling in Compact Form
The GMK K12 is built with expandability in mind. It can accommodate up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM running at 5600 MHz, making it suitable for demanding workloads. For storage, the device includes three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots, allowing users to install up to 24 TB of SSD storage. These specs place the K12 among the most flexible mini PCs in its price range.
GMKtec uses a new VC heat spreader design with 3D air inlets and an active fan featuring intelligent speed control. This design adjusts fan speeds according to system load, ensuring quiet and efficient cooling. It maintains stable performance during prolonged use or demanding tasks. The system also includes three adjustable performance mode. Letting users control energy use and processing power based on their needs—whether for office work, gaming, or media tasks.
