ultimateimp – Acer has officially started selling its latest Swift 16 laptop internationally, bringing one of its newest premium large-screen notebooks to markets including the United States and United Kingdom. The refreshed model combines Intel’s next-generation Panther Lake processor platform with a high-end OLED display and a lightweight chassis.
Originally unveiled during CES 2026 in January, the new Swift 16 replaces the previous generation and aims to improve both performance and efficiency.
Acer’s biggest upgrade comes from the move to Intel Panther Lake “X” processors. These newer chips are expected to offer stronger CPU speed and better integrated graphics than the Lunar Lake platform used in earlier Swift 16 models.
That should translate into faster productivity performance, smoother multitasking, and better handling of creative workloads without requiring dedicated graphics.
For now, Acer appears to be offering only configurations powered by the Intel Core Ultra X7 358H, despite previously announcing higher-end Core Ultra X9 388H versions.
Even so, the currently available systems still arrive with premium specifications.
16-Inch 2.8K OLED Display With 120Hz Refresh Rate
One of the most attractive features of the new Swift 16 is its display. Acer includes a 16-inch OLED panel with a sharp 2.8K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
That combination should deliver excellent contrast, vibrant colors, deep blacks, and smoother motion than standard 60Hz laptop screens.
The higher refresh rate also improves everyday use, making scrolling, animations, and window movement feel more fluid.
For content creators or entertainment-focused buyers, OLED technology remains one of the strongest reasons to consider premium laptops.
Despite using a larger 16-inch panel, Acer has kept the laptop relatively light. Reports indicate it weighs close to the MacBook Air 15, which is impressive for a machine with this screen size.
That makes the Swift 16 appealing to users who want a larger display for productivity but still need portability.
Acer has also added a haptic trackpad, helping create a more premium and modern user experience.
Battery Life, Graphics, and Pricing
The Swift 16 includes a 70Wh battery, giving it solid capacity for a thin-and-light laptop. Combined with Intel’s newer platform, battery efficiency could be one of its strengths.
Graphics are handled by Intel’s Arc B390 integrated GPU, which is included even in the Core Ultra X7 model now on sale.
That should provide stronger integrated graphics performance than many older systems, helping with photo editing, media creation, casual gaming, and hardware-accelerated workflows.
In the United States, pricing starts at $1,549 through Best Buy and $1,599 directly from Acer.
The entry version includes:
- Intel Core Ultra X7 358H
- 16GB RAM
- 1TB SSD
- 16-inch 2.8K 120Hz OLED display
A higher-end model with 32GB RAM and 1TB storage is listed at $1,799.
In the UK, that 32GB version launched at £1,599 including tax, while Currys has already reduced it to £1,499.
Final Verdict
The new Swift 16 looks like a compelling premium laptop for users who want a large OLED screen, strong battery capacity, and modern Intel performance in a relatively light design.
If Acer later releases the Core Ultra X9 variants, the lineup could become even more attractive. For now, the available models already offer a strong mix of portability, display quality, and everyday power.
