LG Launches New 14-Inch Laptops Early in Select Markets

ultimateimp – LG has officially launched a new wave of 14-inch laptops under its refreshed Gram lineup. The new models debut first in the company’s home market of Japan. The release follows their initial preview during CES 2026 in January. The LG Gram 14 14Z95U represents the smallest device in the updated Gram portfolio. It joins newly introduced 15-inch, 16-inch, and 17-inch variants. The rollout marks the beginning of LG’s 2026 premium ultralight strategy.

All currently announced configurations feature AMD Gorgon Point processors. LG confirmed that Intel Panther Lake alternatives will follow later this year. Both processor platforms are expected to reach global markets.

The Gram 14 retains the brand’s established focus on portability and battery endurance. Every SKU includes a 72Wh battery despite the compact chassis. The device weighs approximately 1.12 kilograms. Its physical dimensions measure 312 by 214 by 15.7 millimeters. LG continues to prioritize thin and lightweight construction. These characteristics have defined the Gram series for several product cycles.

The laptop supports PCIe 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X memory. These components enable faster data transfer and efficient multitasking performance. LG pairs this hardware with a 14-inch IPS display. The display offers a 1200p resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 350 nits under standard conditions. The specification targets productivity and everyday professional use.

Pricing, Configurations, and Global Rollout Plans for 2026

LG has priced the entry-level Gram 14 at JPY 215,820, approximately $1,395 at current exchange rates. This configuration includes a Ryzen AI 5 435 processor. It also features 16GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage.

Higher-tier variants use the Ryzen AI 7 450 processor. These configurations support up to 32GB of RAM while maintaining 512GB of storage. The top model is listed at JPY 349,800, roughly $2,255.

LG emphasized that Japanese pricing does not reflect final international pricing. Regional taxes, distribution costs, and currency fluctuations may influence global figures. Official international pricing remains unannounced.

The new entry-level model is approximately 10 percent cheaper than its 2025 predecessor. The earlier version used Intel Arrow Lake processors. That model currently retails for about $1,149 on major online platforms.

The pricing strategy suggests a competitive repositioning within the premium ultralight segment. LG appears to balance updated AMD silicon with slightly reduced entry pricing. The move may strengthen competitiveness in global markets.
